Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers have continued on their dream run. After securing two back-to-back victories, the Lakers have now made it 3-0 from their first three games. This is a feat that the Lakers were alien to for the last few seasons. In their recent matchup with the Sacramento Kings, the LeBron James-led side cruised to a 131-127 victory. However, apart from going atop the table, there is also a special caveat to the victory.
Much like the previous two occasions, the Lakers’ victory was orchestrated by a dominant Anthony Davis. He dropped 31 points, as did LeBron James, who recorded a 30-point triple-double to culminate in a memorable outing. However, beating the Sacramento Kings was way more special for Anthony Davis. Going one-on-one against the Kings’ superstar Domantas Sabonis, Davis could not record a victory in their last 10 face-offs.
That was until October 26, when the myth was finally broken. Sabonis tried his best to maintain the streak, dropping 29 points and 12 rebounds. But Davis’ red-hot form was too much to take. And not only Davis, the Lakers also had their moment of shining. This was the first instance since January 7, 2023, that the LA outfit managed to record a win against the Kings.
With a lot of things going in favor of the Lakers this season, the fans might as well fancy their chances. And while the finals are quite far, an interesting bit of statistics will further lighten up the Lakers’ fans. Well, in all of the seasons where his team has gone 2-0 up initially, LeBron James has reached the NBA finals. And while this bit of stat is encouraging, they are flocking to the comments section after the Lakers’ recent triumph.
Fans Have A Field Day After Anthony Davis Breaks The Streak
The hoops community went berserk soon after Anthony Davis put up yet another significant showing. Taking to the comments section, fans let their inner creative selves unleash as they put forth various opinions on the matter.
One fan compared Davis’ achievement with the undefeated streak of WWE superstar Undertaker. The comment read, “How Sabonis is feeling rn.”

Another fan wrote, “SABONIS WHO?!”
A third fan stated that Sabonis was never on the same level as Anthony Davis. The comment read, “No one cares ab the streak Sabonis never reaching AD level.”
Another could not believe that Davis was 0-10 down all this while. The comment read, “Crazy how he was 0-10 against him.”
This fan, too, reiterated a similar sentiment saying, “This is crazy how he hasn’t gotten a win against “Sabonis” before.”
Going against the tide, this fan was supportive of Sabonis’ efforts. The comment read, “Sabonis played great though. Crazy Triple Double.”
There was another Undertaker reference as the comment read, “Making Sabonis sound like the undertaker.”
A fan went ahead and predicted the Lakers lifting the NBA title this year saying, “LAKERS 2025 CHAMPS BOOKMARK IT.”
Thus, with a lot of good things happening this season, it remains to be seen how the rest of the season pans out for the Los Angeles Lakers.
