During an appearance on Gil’s Arena show, former Milwaukee Bucks star Brandon Jennings recently stirred controversy by drawing comparisons between Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon and Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero. Jennings, who played nine seasons in the NBA, mentioned that Banchero gives him Gordon vibes.
“He gives me Aaron Gordon vibes… He’s a four, right? I think Paolo’s like this because he’s in Orlando right now, but if he went to another team, he would be like Aaron Gordon.” Jennings said to former NBA player Gilbert Arenas.
Jennings’ statements sparked a debate among fans, who began expressing their thoughts in the comments section of a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). Many supporters believe that Banchero is better than Gordon, who recently honored his late brother Drew with a heartfelt tattoo. This is because, within two seasons, the rising star of the Magic has delivered several dominating performances.
One fan mentioned that Banchero is better than Gordon and said, “Respectfully, he’s way better than Aaron Gordon.”
Meanwhile another fan commented, “Ironically, Banchero is in the team that drafted Aaron Gordon: Orlando Magic. And he ain’t like Gordon there. He’s much better.”

Another fan mentioned, “Paolo through his first 2 seasons is already a better player than Aaron Gordon has ever and will ever be.”
Another fan explained, “Got love for BJ, but he’s wild. Paolo does a couple of moves in a game that Gordon has never done. Gordon is way more explosive and closer to what Blake Griffin was, and Paolo is a four that has three tendencies/skills.”
Comparing Paolo Banchero And Aaron Gordon
Gordon played seven seasons with the Magic before being traded to the Nuggets. The 28-year-old was never a prominent scorer during his time with the Magic. His best stats came in the 2017-18 NBA season, where he averaged 17.6 points, 2.3 assists, and 7.9 rebounds per game.
On the other hand, Banchero, who was selected with the first overall pick by the Magic in the 2022 NBA draft, immediately became a strong support for the team after being drafted. In his first season, the 21-year-old averaged 20 points, 3.7 assists, and 6.9 rebounds, while in his second season, he averaged 22.6 points, 5.4 assists, and 6.9 rebounds.
