Grizzlies’ Ja Morant Looks to Imitate LeBron James’ Power
The Memphis Grizzlies are coming off a challenging season with a 27-55 record, finishing 13th in the NBA Western Conference. Amid Ja Morant’s eagerness to have a comeback season, one of Morant’s 2019 interviews with The Athletic caught attention.
In the interview, Morant revealed that LeBron James inspired him to improve his game.
“If I had to pick, I’d say LeBron’s strength because I feel it would be easier to finish through contact. Come off ball screens, holding somebody; it’s just a lot. So I would take that,” Morant said.
In his five seasons with the Grizzlies, Ja Morant led the team to the playoffs in three seasons. Last season, he averaged 25.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 8.1 assists in nine games.
