Last week, Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges was arrested after an argument with an accompanying woman left her requiring medical attention.
Police arrived at the woman’s home for assistance after receiving a call. By their arrival, Bridges had vacated the premises. Bridges turned himself in on Wednesday and was released on $130,000 bail.
Rumors suggested it was his wife, and she confirmed it when she took to Instagram and exposed him for beating her and causing multiple injuries.
Over the weekend, a gossip blog leaked a series of videos showing his wife partying it up, drinking, and twerking.
“This is a close friends leak. A lot of Plastics that live out in Houston definitely feel a way about this whole situation because #MychelleJohnson has been turning up all weekend and her documents state that she has all types of injuries. I understand you can not judge someone for how they deal with domestic violence or anything traumatic that’s happened in their life, BUT right is right and wrong is wrong.

Multiple reliable sources have said Mychelle is an equal aggressor. in no way does that make any of what’s happened okay… it’s a dirty game being played right now and we just have to sit back and see how it plays out in court.”
This is how fans reacted to the post in the comments:
“Whether she went out or not that man still abused her. Being abused should not stop her from living her life”
“Damn so she suppose to get abused and do what exactly ? Stay inside the house with a knife to her wrist ready to end it all .. women astonish me at our lack of compassion or how we judge how someone’s suppose to heal . Fucking ridiculous . After my mom died . A week later I was out , because my FRIENDS KNEW ME BEING IN THE HOUSE WAS UNHEALTHY . when you’re alone with your thoughts that’s when things go wrong . I’m happy she’s out . Unhappy to see some of these comments”
“One sided or not, he don’t have ONE bruise on his body. She probably wanted to get her mind off the abuse as any victim would. This is distasteful for whoever leaked her close friends.”
“When I was beat up by my ex my bestfriend paid to for me to get my makeup done real good and FORCED me to go out side and have fun. Till this day I’m so glad she did cause i was planning on k—g myself the next day
“I’m confused! So was she supposed to stay sheltered in place? You can’t tell someone how they should behave after going through what she went through!!! So because her “close” friend said she was aggressive also that excuses her injuries that we SAW pictures of???? All I can say is that’s crazy!! Way to go shaming the victim!
“This isn’t the first time he abused her. If she can “take a lickin and keep on tickin”. This is probably normal to her and that’s sad.
“She’s not allowed to go out 4th of July weekend… she was still abused this means nothing
“He choked her out but she playing games? Yeah aight.
“i’m weak y’all calling a female who barely touch 5’5 an aggressor to a man who stands 6’7, 230….
“This post is very nasty & disappointing. You have to learn to keep your personal feelings & thoughts out of this. Reporting on it, cool. But saying she’s an equal aggressor to a 6’7 top athlete & picking apart every move she makes from that moment on is insane & nasty on so many levels.
Last thing I got is the way the NBA & all these athletic associations stand behind players, it’s very interesting that the Hornets went the other route & it isn’t for no reason. He did it, he’s guilty & it’s showing. This post is so nasty.”
After four seasons with the Hornets, Bridges solidified himself as a key part of the Hornets, putting up breakout numbers (20.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists) in 2021 and right before contract extension talks in the 2022 offseason.
After his arrest and his wife’s allegations, his future going forward is very murky.
He ascended at the right time and took a plunge at the worst time.
Bridges turned down a four-year, $60 million extension from Charlotte last offseason.
