NBA Executive Throws Phoenix Suns Coach Mike Budenholzer Under The Bus For Star Guard Devin Booker’s Recent Struggles
Phoenix Suns star forward Kevin Durant’s injury has taken a toll on the team’s performance. The Suns are currently 10th in the Western Conference standings with a 12-11 record. While Devin Booker was expected to step up in Durant’s absence, the Suns guard is lacking efficiency. Recently, an anonymous NBA executive made startling comments on Booker’s recent struggles.
In his 23 games this season for the Suns, Booker is averaging 24.9 points while shooting 43.2% from the field. However, the 4x NBA All-Star has been struggling from beyond-the-arc shooting. While Booker has had a low-scoring season since 2017-18, his three-point shooting percentage is his career’s second lowest.
An anonymous NBA executive reportedly blamed Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer for Booker’s downfall. “Mike Budenholzer has ruined Devin Booker. What made him a tier one shooting guard in the league was his playmaking and getting in rhyme with his midrange shots, he’s shooting more 3 pointers recently when he’s a league average 35% 3 point shooter his whole flow is ruined,” the statement read.

“Mike is not exploiting Devin Booker’s true gift as a player that we all love to watch over the years,” the executive added. The Suns won three of their four NBA Cup games this season but failed to qualify for the knockouts.
