After a big time performance in a losing cause during Game 1 on Sunday, Kyrie Irving had a rough Game 2 outing against his former team at the TD Garden on Wednesday night.
The Brooklyn Nets’ star guard hit just 4 of 13 field-goal attempts for 10 points, eight rebounds, and one measly assist during a 114-107 loss. And for those who were paying attention, there were no middle fingers or NSFW encounters this time around.
NBC Boston made note of that stat during Irving’s post-game press conference, as they decided to include it in their lower third description of the former Celtic — along with the disclaimer, “as far as we know.”
In case you missed it, there were plenty of middle fingers and expletive-filled exchanges between Irving and the Boston crowd throughout their epic Game 1 battle on Sunday.
Perhaps Irving should have stuck with his foul-mouthed ways. He seems to play a lot better when he’s hurling cuss words at the opposing team’s fans.
