With the NBA 2024-25 schedule announced on Thursday, the Golden State Warriors will play their first season without star guard Klay Thompson since 2011. Stephen Curry’s Warriors will tip off their 2024-25 regular season against the Portland Trail Blazers on October 23. For the first time since 1999-2000, the San Francisco-based team will play multiple road games to kick off their season.
The six-time NBA champions will face Klay Thompson on his return to the Chase Center on November 12 in their NBA Cup opener against the Dallas Mavericks.
Golden State Warriors 2024-25 Regular Season Schedule
The 2022 NBA champions offloaded All-Stars Chris Paul and Klay Thompson from their squad and acquired and signed De’Anthony Melton and Daeqwon Plowden, among others. The Warriors will host the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day in their 12th straight appearance.
In the NBA Cup, Golden State is placed in the West Group C alongside the Denver Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, and Memphis Grizzlies. The Warriors will play their home opener against the Los Angeles Clippers and end their regular season against the Clippers at home.
Last season, the Warriors won 46 games to manage the 10th position in the Western Conference standings. Without Klay Thompson and Chris Paul, the Warriors will largely depend on Steph Curry and Draymond Green. However, the Dubs youngsters, especially Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski, stepped up when the five-time All-Star was below average.
