The league announced the 2024-25 season schedule on Thursday, and the defending champions, Boston Celtics, will begin their campaign for title defense on October 22. Jayson Tatum’s side will kick off its regular season against conference rivals, New York Knicks.
The Celtics finished at the top of the Eastern Conference standings last season and lifted the NBA trophy with a 64-18 record. In the 2024 NBA Finals, Boston defeated the Dallas Mavericks, featuring Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, and PJ Washington in five games.
After winning the 2023-24 NBA championship, the Celtics took the lead against the Los Angeles Lakers (17 titles) to become the most successful NBA team with 18 titles. While Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic won the NBA MVP for the third time last season, Jaylen Brown received the honor of the 2024 Finals MVP.
Boston Celtics 2024-25 NBA Regular Season Schedule
Before their 2024-25 opener against the Knicks, the Celtics will accept their championship rings and raise the Banner 18. Boston will face Eastern Conference sides in its next seven games following their opener. Joe Mazzulla’s side is scheduled to host the Golden State Warriors in their first clash in a Western Conference on November 6.
While the Celtics will play against the Philadelphia 76ers on Christmas Day, they will host the Toronto Raptors on New Year’s Eve. In the NBA Cup, the Celtics are in the East Group C alongside the Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Washington Wizards.
