Denver Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr. has been in hot water for the past 24 hours after he took to Twitter and suggested that outraged folks send their prayers instead of hate towards the police officers who were responsible for the death of George Floyd.
His tweet was called out by a number of NBA veterans as well, including Los Angeles Clippers sixth man Lou Williams, Mike Scott of the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks swingman Moe Harkless.
Harkless suggested somebody older speak with the rookie.

Not to mention that former NBA player Stephen Jackson blasted the young athlete, “go sit yo young Privileged a** down.” The retired professional basketball player told the 21-year-old small forward to pick a side, saying, “Either u with us or against us.”
Stephen added that it was easy for Michael to ask people to show compassion for the police officers because he didn’t lose a loved one. “@MPJr not now bruh f**k dat. Rest Easy Twin I don’t have a prob with u Youngin ain’t no time for that. Easy to say that nobody dying close to u. Pick a side,” he responded to Michael’s plea.
Porter makes it known that he is a Christian, as his Twitter bio reads “God first always.” Clearly, he is going to turn to the religious aspect for every situation, but thousands, if not millions of people have moved past that and now are in the midst of trying other alternative means to get their point across that African American men dying at the hands of police should not be tolerated.
