Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson caused a stir by unfollowing the Warriors team page on Instagram. This action sparked concern among fans, who feared it signaled the end of the Thompson era. Warriors guard Moses Moody also weighed in during a recent appearance on ABC7.
Moody shared a personal experience to illustrate how social media can create unnecessary drama.
“They had a video saying I unfollowed the Warriors, but I didn’t follow them in the first place. I didn’t follow them all year. You gotta be careful with the media playing with situations,” Moody said, per Warriors Subreddit.
Klay Thompson has spent his entire career with the Warriors since starting his national-level NBA career. Thompson will become a free agent this summer, and the team has yet to offer him an extension. This delay has fueled speculation about his next move, with the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers emerging as potential suitors.
Klay Thompson’s Last Season Stats
Klay Thompson’s 2023–24 season was not noteworthy enough. He averaged 17.9 points per game, with a field goal percentage of 43.2% and a three-point percentage of 38.7%. These numbers reflect a slight dip compared to his career averages of 19.6 PPG, 45.3% FG, and 41.3% 3P.
The sharpshooter also concluded his 2023–24 season by missing all ten shots in the play-in loss to the Kings. After failing to come to an extension deal with the Warriors front office, Thompson will be eligible to become a free agency this summer.
