New York Police Department has confirmed that the panicked crowd was merely reacting to a “sound disturbance” outside the arena, with CNN reporting that ten people suffered minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals.
“After investigating the incident at the Barclays Center this morning, we determined that no shots were fired,” the NYPD 78th Precinct said in a tweet on Sunday.
The undefeated Gervonta Davis retained his WBA secondary lightweight title with a sixth round knockout of Rolando Romero. The TKO is the 25th for Davis in 27 career fights.
