The dark-side of social media is that it gives cowards access to remain faceless and spew venom towards people without repercussions.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Montrezl Harrell lost his grandmother last year, and while he is still dealing with that loss, trolls are making it even harder by sending horrific comments his way.
Harrell revealed Friday he is still coping with his grandmother’s death and told reporters he was upset at fans making nasty remarks about her passing after L.A. lost Game 6 to the Phoenix Suns on Thursday:
“I find everyday challenging, brother,” Harrell said when asked about his grandmother, via Harrison Faigen of SB Nation. “I still find it challenging every day. Especially when there’s dummies out there, heartless people who get on social media and just say the things that they say. I still get people, even to [Thursday] night people have the nerve to get on social media and say ‘f my grandmother.’ Which they wouldn’t dare say to my face in any circumstance.”
It’s not really hard to find some bad apples on Twitter who engaged in the nonsense:

“Everything,” Harrell said of what his grandmother meant to him. “My grandmother was the one who introduced me to the game of basketball, was my dad’s mother. One of my biggest supporters, biggest fans, one of my best friends. Only way to put it. There’s no other way to explain the things she done for me.
“She was my entire world.”
