After eliminating the reigning champions, the Denver Nuggets, from their title-repeat dreams, the Minnesota Timberwolves turned out to be the mightier side. The Minnesota franchise advanced to the Conference finals following the victorious semifinal series. The last time the Wolves reached the spot was two decades ago when their legend Kevin Garnett played with them.
Thrilled with his former team’s success, Garnett shared his views on a recent episode of “All the Smoke Productions.” While explaining the dynamic of the Wolves pair Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns in their triumph, the Hall of Famer compared his time with Boston Celtics teammate Paul Pierce, who was present on the podcast.
Kevin Garnett said, “[Anthony Edwards] has too big of a personality to be Robin… [Ant and Karl-Anthony Towns] are the faces of the franchise… This is why me and [Paul Pierce] worked. You got to have a yin and a yang.”
The Wolves have greatly depended on Edwards and Towns who have taken the franchise’s defensive and offensive duties on their shoulders and led them in the postseason tournament, especially in the match-up against the Nuggets. Following the 98-90 win that ended the series, the guard labeled Towns as the “baddest big man.”

Anthony Edwards showered Karl-Anthony Towns with heaps of praise after his brilliant performance in Sunday’s game. The 7-footer center/forward did not only dominate in the defense but also scored the joint team-high points.
Edwards was spotted in a video cheering his teammate’s name and thanked Towns for his brilliance. “Thank KAT, y’all. They ain’t have no answer for Karl. Karl the baddest big on the planet,” said the 22-year-old.
