The Minnesota Timberwolves let down their home crowd at Target Center in a heart-wrenching game against the Memphis Grizzlies, falling short by just two points. Anthony Edwards had a chance to secure the win but missed two critical three-pointers. Meanwhile, Ja Morant stepped up in the clutch, hitting two vital baskets when the game was tied, leading Memphis to a 127-125 victory.
With the win, the Grizzlies improved their record to 25-14, securing the third spot in the Western Conference. On the other hand, the Timberwolves’ defeat dropped their record to 20-18, leaving them in eighth place in the standings.
Memphis Grizzlies Make History With Late-Game Dominance
This victory was especially significant for Memphis, as it marked the first time this season they won a game after trailing through three quarters. The Grizzlies’ dominance in the final five minutes, with Ja Morant leading the charge, was the key to the comeback. Over that span, Memphis scored 12 of their final 16 points through a combination of Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane.
Jaren Jackson Jr. had a standout performance, finishing with 33 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and a steal. He shot 13-of-24 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. Desmond Bane contributed 21 points, five assists, and five rebounds.

Ja Morant, while not having his best overall game, found a way to come through when his team needed him most. Morant ended the game with 12 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Luke Kennard and Santi Aldama both added 11 points in the win.
On the other side, the Timberwolves had a strong showing, but their inability to finish the game cost them dearly. Donte DiVincenzo had an excellent performance, recording 27 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

Edwards finished with 15 points, five rebounds, and six assists, but his shooting was off throughout the game. He shot just 4-of-13 from the field and missed all five of his three-point attempts. More concerning was his lack of production in the fourth quarter, where he failed to score despite playing 10 minutes. Julius Randle added 18 points, Naz Reid had 19 points, and Rudy Gobert scored 12 points and had four rebounds and four assists.
In their upcoming clashes, the Grizzlies will face the Houston Rockets on Monday, while the Timberwolves will take on the Washington Wizards on Monday as well.
