During his free time in the Milwaukee Bucks’ offseason, Damian Lillard joined the debate about the greatest shooter in NBA history by sharing a post on his Instagram story asking, “Can we all agree that these are the 4 greatest shooters in NBA history?”
The post had pictures of Stephen Curry, Ray Allen, the Bucks guard himself and Reggie Miller. Lillard’s usage of confused and laughing emojis in the story shows that he probably agrees with the list. Even after being a skillful shooter from long range, he has often missed the spot on the list.
In an interview with Casey Holdahl in 2022, Dame criticized people for not considering him one of the greatest shooters. Lillard stated, “Obviously I think Steph is the greatest ever, but I think after him, I don’t see why I’m not clear-cut in that discussion, not just by makes, but how I shoot it, how I make tough ones all the time, how easy I shoot the ball.”
There is much speculation around Lillard’s future with the Bucks after his cryptic message on IG following their disappointing playoff exit. Dame has a $48.8 million deal for the next season and has signed through the 2026-2027 season, along with a player opt-out option. Amid the uncertainty about his next step, the Bucks star engages in such polls.
Despite considering Stephen Curry as one of the best sharpshooters, Lillard scrapped him out of another list like many.
Damian Lillard Doesn’t Rate Stephen Curry Among Top 5 Skilled Player
Besides participating in the greatest shooter discussion, Damian Lillard also took part in Complex’s poll ranking the NBA’s top five skilled players. The 33-year-old stunned the fans by not including Warriors veteran Stephen Curry on his list.

Lillard added Dallas Mavericks’ Kyrie Irving, Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant, another Mavs superstar, Luka Doncic, LA Clipper’s Paul George, and former MVP Joel Embiid to the list, but Curry had no spot there.
Many believe that the All-Star MVP excluded him from the list since Lillard couldn’t compete against the 4-time champion in the playoffs and has a winless record against Curry.
