The Milwaukee Bucks have hit a rough patch, falling into a six-game losing streak that even raised concerns on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future with them. Their latest defeat, a close 116-114 loss to the Cavaliers on Monday, has fans concerned, but head coach Doc Rivers remains optimistic about the team’s future.
Following Monday’s game, Rivers made a bold prediction, expressing confidence in the Bucks’ ability to turn things around. Rivers shared the challenges ahead, with some tough games on the schedule, but mentioned a step-by-step approach.
“We will make the playoffs. I’m not worried about that. The team’s very positive. I think they’re upbeat. No one wants to lose. We have some tough games coming up, but one win at a time. We win three or four in a row, and then the numbers say if you’re 5-6 after that, you have an 80 percent chance to make the playoffs, you know?” Rivers said, according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
“So that’s where numbers are so silly sometimes, especially early in the year. And we don’t pay much attention to them,” he added.
Doc Rivers Insists Bucks Feel No Pressure
As the Bucks prepare to face the Utah Jazz at Fiserv Forum on Thursday, head coach Doc Rivers is working to keep spirits high despite the team’s recent struggles. With their recent losses, some fans might be concerned, but Rivers insists there’s no panic within the team.
“We believe we’re a really good basketball team that has played poorly at times, and last two games, you can say we played well and lost the games. The worry is outside the building; I guarantee you that there is none inside the building,” Rivers said.
