This offseason brought a significant change for Mikal Bridges as he joined the New York Knicks from the Brooklyn Nets. The trade saw the Knicks send Bojan Bogdanovic and five first-round draft picks to the Nets.
Recently, Bridges appeared at a live event in Central Park, hosted by his new teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart on their ‘Roommates‘ Podcast. During the show, Bridges took a moment to reflect on his time with the Brooklyn Nets.
Bridges is well aware of the rivalry between the Knicks and the Nets. Despite this, he urged the Knicks fans to recognize the positive impact the Nets had on his development as a player.
“Y’all should appreciate Brooklyn because it made me better. F–k, my game grew there,” Bridges said.
“I’m pairing up with a lot of psychos. And I’m happy to be here,” he added.

“It was actually great. Last year was tough. Last year was tough. But I mean, I just, I’ve grown as a person; I’ve grown as a player,” Bridges said.
In his one season with the Nets, he averaged 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. With him, the Knicks ended the last season with a 50-32 record in the regular season.
Now, with the Knicks, Bridges is set to play a key role behind stars like Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle.
