LeBron James is not happy for several reasons. He’s back from his injury early for a struggling Lakers team that badly needed him in the lineup. It didn’t matter much as the lost their third straight game on Sunday, falling to the Toronto Raptors, 121-114. He finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 28 minutes.
As a result, they’re now in a three-way tie with the Mavericks and Trail Blazers, which puts them in serious jeopardy of winding up in the play-in tournament.
“Whoever came up with that s— needs to be fired,” LeBron said of the play-in tournament.
Actor, comedian, and occasional sports analyst Michael Rapaport took to Twitter to not only blast LeBron for his comments, but also took shots at Draymond Green and Mark Cuban.
Back in 2018, when a play-in tournament was first proposed, LeBron was similarly critical.
“That’s wack,” LeBron said of the play-in tournament. “You’ve got to earn your spot to be in the postseason. No consolation for finishing last. That’s corny.”
