If you turn out to be one of the best players in your sport, your rookie card is likely to end up being very valuable.
That’s been the case for Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant, despite the off-court drama that’s landed him a suspension for the first 25 games of the next NBA season.
A 2019 Panini Chronicles rookie card featuring said player was already a significant catch, not just because of Morant but because rappers Young Dolph and Key Glock are in the background.
Now, there’s even more reason for owners to appreciate the memorabilia as folks have noticed that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy are also in the crowd. The Tuohy family, who are portrayed along with Michael Oher in 2009 film ‘The Blind Side’, are currently involved in a saga, which is why they’re getting noticed now.
According to Action Network, “Over 100 of the cards sold, including ungraded cards for roughly $55 per. PSA 10s sold for as high as $550 each. According to data from Sports Card Investor, a PSA 10 could be had for just over $100 on July 31.”

Meanwhile, Oher has filed a lawsuit against the family, alleging that they tricked him into signing a conservatorship that allowed them to profit off his name, image, and likeness under the guise of adoption.
