Michael Jordan set numerous records during his illustrious career, but he never had at least 30 points in 30 straight games or notched 10 straight triple-doubles as James Harden and Russell Westbrook have done during the 2018 season.
The Charlotte Hornets owner was posed the question on Tuesday on whether what Harden and Westbrook was doing was more difficult than winning his championships. I think we already know what his answer was.
“Six championships, by all means,” Jordan told reporters, including Steve Reed of The Associated Press.
Jordan lead the Chicago Bulls to three-straight NBA titles from 91-93, took a year off, returned after the 1995 all-star break, and while the team got bounced from the playoffs by the Orlando Magic, he would lead the Bulls to 3-straight title again from 96-98.
“It shows progression in the league,” Jordan said. “I am very proud of how both guys have done because they are making a mark for the league and I think it really helps grow the league.”
Harden is averaging 41.5 points, 7.7 boards, 7.5 assists, and 2.3 steals per game while Westbrook is on pace to average a triple-double for the third straight season.
