Michael Jordan is, without a doubt one of the greatest if not the greatest offensive players in NBA history.
He seemed to take on every challenge and come out on top each and every time. One of the rare players that may have been able to slow down him down just a little bit was Gary Payton.
That was especially evident during the 1996 NBA finals when the Seattle Supersonics played the Chicago Bulls. Despite the fact, Bulls won that series, Payton’s defense on Jordan was a topic for discussion.
Payton talked about that series and how he guarded Jordan exclusively after so many games and it seemed to change the series a little bit. Jordan was able to hear his comments and had a very disrespectful belly laugh at those comments.
