The season neither ended well for the Miami Heat nor their ace, Jimmy Butler. The franchise suffered disappointing losses in the post-season following their star forward’s exit due to injury. Now, as the summer trade is approaching, multiple rumors are brewing about the veteran’s new home. With his recent Instagram story, Butler gave rise to a new linkup with the Golden State Warriors.
On Thursday, Butler posted several travel snaps on his IG story and the eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot the destination he was headed to from a map right behind him in one of the pictures. The city he was visiting was San Jose, which is less than 50 miles from the Warriors home arena, Chase Center.
The NBA fans started speculating that the 34-year-old could be seen on the Warriors alongside Stephen Curry in the upcoming season, as the Heat are not showing interest in his contract extension.
Butler appeared in 60 games for the 2023-2024 season, averaging 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists, but unfortunately couldn’t show off his masterclass in the playoffs due to his MCL injury.
His skills could not only be utilized by the San Francisco franchise, but as per an NBA Insider, he could be an asset to the Cleveland Cavaliers as well.

According to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Jimmy Butler could land with the Cavaliers if the Heat agree to make their star available for the summer trade.

Clarifying that it was based on his assumption and nobody confirmed it, the NBA Insider said, “The one team that, if they were willing to trade Jimmy, I don’t know if they are, the one team I would pay attention to is the Cleveland Cavaliers.”
Justifying his view, Pompey further added, “Because Rich Paul said if you give Donovan Mitchell an extension, then you know they probably want to get Darius Garland out of there.” He concluded by saying, “..right now it’s up to Cleveland to make a decision. But to me, I don’t know if Jimmy would want to go there.”
The writer also named the New Orleans Pelicans as a probable destination for Butler. However, nothing can be confirmed as of now, one has to keep a closer look for further updates on Jimmy Buckets.
