The Memphis Grizzlies have began their home back-to-back series with a 139-126 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. After overcoming an 11-point deficit, the Grizzlies rallied to secure a commanding 13-point win. Despite missing their star player Ja Morant, Memphis managed to dominate the game, while the Pelicans faced challenges without Zion Williamson.
This victory marked the Grizzlies’ fifth consecutive win, improving their season record to 30-15. The team now holds the third spot in the Western Conference standings. In contrast, the Pelicans’ struggles continued as they fell to 12-33 for the season. They currently sit in 14th place in the Western Conference, just ahead of the Utah Jazz.
Luke Kennard And Jaren Jackson Jr. Lead Memphis Grizzlies Past The Pelicans
Jaren Jackson Jr. led the Grizzlies with a stellar performance, recording 29 points, seven assists (a career high), five rebounds, and a block. Jackson was also dominant in shooting, going 10-of-16 from the field and knocking down five of nine three-point attempts.

Luke Kennard also made a significant impact, contributing 27 points on an efficient 10-of-14 shooting, including 7-of-9 from beyond the arc. Desmond Bane dished out 14 assists while adding 20 points. Zach Edey added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists while Brandon Clarke scored 14 points in the win.
For New Orleans, Dejounte Murray led the scoring with 26 points, seven assists, and six rebounds, while CJ McCollum added 22 points. Trey Murphy III contributed 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Jordan Hawkins chipped in with 20 points in 32 minutes.
Looking ahead, the Grizzlies will face the Utah Jazz on Saturday with an aim to extend their winning streak. Meanwhile, the Pelicans will take on the Charlotte Hornets on the same day in hopes of bouncing back.
