The biggest story of 2019 was the same story at the end of 2018 and that’s the ongoing Government shutdown that shows no end in sight as both Democrats and Republicans refuse to come to a decision to get people back to work and get paid to continue on with their daily lives.
The Memphis Grizzlies are well aware of the situation going on which is why they are now giving out free tickets for Monday’s game against the visiting New Orleans Pelicans to employees impacted by the ongoing United States federal government shutdown.
Furloughed government workers can show their federal government I.D. at the FedExForum box office to claim a pair of tickets:
“We want to open our doors to support federal government workers who are currently facing stress and uncertainty,” Grizzlies president of business operations Jason Wexler said in a team release. “As they constantly support us each day, we want to express our appreciation for all they do with this small gesture and provide them the opportunity to join us for free at our annual MLK Jr. Celebration Game.”
President Donald Trump is set to address the government shutdown around 3pm on Saturday.
