Luka Doncic was a one-man army throughout the Dallas Mavericks’ Game 2 loss to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. Despite his remarkable efforts, Doncic was quick to take responsibility for the team’s shortcomings after the game.
In the post-game press conference, the Serbian native candidly acknowledged his mistakes, mentioning critical areas where he felt his performance fell short.
“My turnovers and missed free throws cost us the game,” he said.
When asked what the Mavericks needed to do to reverse their fortunes in the series, Doncic was clear and concise.
“We got to make shots. We got to make free throws and less turnovers. Those three things I think are the key for a win,” he added.
Doncic started the game on fire, scoring 23 points in the first half against the Boston Celtics. However, as the game progressed, the Boston Celtics’ defense tightened, limiting his effectiveness. The 25-year-old still managed to secure his 10th career playoff triple-double, finishing with 32 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds.
