Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. received and continues to get major backlash for imploring others to “pray” for the police officers involved in the death of Minnesota resident George Floyd.
New York Knicks forward Maurice Harkless does not agree with Porter’s message, which is why he took to Twitter and said, “somebody talk to their rook please.”
Floyd could be seen on video with a knee on his neck by one officer while two others restrained him. The only thing Floyd did was scream in agony that everything was hurting and that he couldn’t breathe.
All officers involved have since been fired.
Protesters in Minneapolis and now Los Angeles have taken to the streets in response to the killing.
