Mark Cuban has addressed rumors claiming he could run for President following his decision to sell the Dallas Mavericks and quit ‘Shark Tank’.
Cuban is set to sell a majority share of the NBA franchise to the Adelson family but will maintain operational control of the team.
Given that he’s making two huge moves, there has been lots of speculation regarding a possible election bid. However, the 65-year-old has told NBC News he doesn’t intend to run.
“No plans to run,” he told the outlet via email.
Cuban previously joked that his family would disown him if he ever decided to present himself as a candidate. But, given the timing of the announcements, fans couldn’t be blamed for feeling like he was set to make a run at the White House.
The Mavs owner revealed that next season will be his last on ABC’s ‘Shark Tank’ while on a podcast appearance on Tuesday and news of his plans to sell a majority stake to casino mogul Dr. Miriam Adelson dropped later in the day.

Cuban, who bought the team for $285 million in 2000, is selling for a reported $3.5 billion while relinquishing no control. Sounds like a real win-win.
