Mark Cuban is a man that has flirted with the idea for running for President for years. The Dallas Mavericks owner and billionaire businessman has always been well versed on speaking out on social issues, even calling out the current President multiple times and showing that he is not afraid to get his feet dirty in politics.
Now, the 61-year-old is back to flirting with a potential independent presidential run in 2020.
“Great question!” Cuban responded.
“If this would’ve been a month ago, I would have said absolutely not,” Cuban said. “But obviously things are crazy, things are changing. So I’ll keep an open mind. But I seriously doubt it.”
Cuban is referring to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that has claimed the lives of thousands of Americans as well as many others from around the world.
“Everyone is afraid right now and wants to make things work,” Cuban told DallasBasketball.com. “No one wants to see businesses close down. Transparency and brutal honesty really go a long way. We’re all experiencing this together at the same time.

Having a new worth of over $4 billion gives Cuban the chance to finance his own campaign if he chooses to do so.
As of April, former Vice President Joe Biden is the overwhelming favorite to go up against President Trump in November’s general election. But, as we stated before, COVID-19 could drastically change that as well.
