What happened in the Boston Celtics locker room after losing Game 2 will either wake the team up and destroy then for the remainder of the series against the Miami Heat.
Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart was heard blowing up on teammates in the locker room following Thursday night’s meltdown and now we are getting more details into what happened in that room.
Several reporters heard Smart “screaming” in the locker room and objects being thrown. Shams Charania of The Athletic gathered more information and reported it was Smart and Jaylen Brown getting into an argument and having to be separated by teammates.
Brown reportedly told Smart he needed to cool off and that the Celtics “must stay together and that their actions must come as a team, not individually.”
One source said, “They will move past this and focus on the task.”
In Thursday’s loss, Smart finished with 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting to go along with four assists, four rebounds and four turnovers. Meanwhile, Brown went 8-of-14 for 21 points with six rebounds, two assists and one turnover.
The team has blown consecutive double-digit leads and now sit in an 0-2 hole in the Eastern Conference Finals.
