The Los Angeles Clippers reportedly offered a three-year, $41 million deal to Marcus Morris in free agency.
A few days ago, there were heavy rumors circulating that Rich Paul had stopped the former Celtics star from taking that deal because he would’ve been even more competition for his number one client in LeBron James.
On Wednesday, a Lakers fan account posted about that very rumor with this tweet:
Morris saw the tweet and fired back at everybody who dragged Rich Paul’s name through the mud.

It has been reported that Morris was seeking a two-year, $40 million deal but the Clippers couldn’t offer that deal while preserving enough cap space to sign Kawhi Leonard. They would eventually move on to acquire Maurice Harkless in a four-team trade.
Morris and Paul parted ways when the contract with the Spurs was reneged on.
The one-year deal with New York puts Morris back into the mix next year in a weaker free agency class and he can likely recoup what he believes he is worth if he has yet another good year.
