The Thanalysis Show, hosted by Giannis’ brother and Milwaukee Bucks teammate Thanasis Antetokounmpo, featured an open discussion between controversial analyst Stephen A. Smith and two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. During their conversation, Giannis said he doesn’t watch “First Take.”
Things did not begin this way for Giannis Antetokounmpo. He acknowledged that he had seen Smith’s show in the past, but the Bucks star said it was impeding his growth and that he had to give it up. Giannis acknowledged, nevertheless, that he was impressed by Smith’s efforts on his program.
“Man, I like you. But at the end of the day to be in the top of your game, which I believe you are because before I came to the NBA I knew who you were.” Giannis stated.
Before returning the floor to Thanasis, Giannis Antetokounmpo thanked Smith for attending his event. Giannis did not detail how or why “First Take” hampered his progress. Still, it is conceivable, given that the ESPN pundit is well-known or infamous for giving scorching, often acerbic, opinions.
Takes that have the potential to divert attention and, if allowed to, completely wreck a player’s growth.

Knowing this, the host of “First Take” said on Thanalysis that he doesn’t care if people like him. He noted that Giannis Antetokounmpo was correct to stop watching his show.
Smith went on to add that he was aware Giannis Antetokounmpo was pursuing greatness. The ESPN expert said he should give up everything preventing him from accomplishing his objectives, even if it were his program.
