There’s been a major update in the Josh Giddey case following several weeks of silence.
Giddey, a shooting guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, is alleged to have had a relationship with an underaged girl, with photos and videos of them together surfacing online late last year. However, the New York Post is reporting that the Australian will not be facing any charges.
According to said publication, the case has been closed by the Newport Beach police department in California as the girl and her family refused to cooperate with investigators while authorities haven’t found any corroborating evidence.
Giddey refused to comment on the situation last year, as did the Thunder. The 21-year-old continued to play and hasn’t missed any games because of the investigation.
While the NBA began a probe into the matter, commissioner Adam Silver said that the league would take a backseat and allow police to carry out their investigations.
