The 2024-25 NBA season has kicked off with some incredible preseason games. Players are working hard in practice to perform their best on the court in the upcoming games. In the meantime, former NBA player Tracy McGrady demonstrated a fantastic move that can help players quickly get past defenders.
McGrady recently posted a video on his Instagram account in which he demonstrated a tutorial of his grab the arm move. In the caption, he wrote, “This is my move; be responsible when using it,” indicating its effectiveness.
During the demonstration, McGrady began with a few dribbles and then instructed everyone to focus on the opponent’s leading arm. After a few dribbles, he demonstrated how to grab the opponent’s leading arm and pull it to the side to clear a path to the basket.
McGrady, who recently praised Kobe Bryant, is one of the greatest scorers and shooting guards in the NBA’s history. The former NBA player was drafted as the ninth overall pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 1997 NBA draft. After playing three seasons with the Raptors, he became a free agent and signed with the Orlando Magic.

“They still love me. If they didn’t love me, they wouldn’t be booing me. It felt good, definitely, quieting the fans. That was the most exciting thing for me. I expected every bit of that; it didn’t bother me. We fed off that,” McGrady said.
Notably, after playing 15 seasons in the NBA, McGrady officially announced his retirement in August 2013.
