The era of NBA legends like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Kobe Bryant has ended. Now, the league is defined by the dominance of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry. This powerful trio has not only led their teams to greatness but is also at the forefront of Team USA’s quest for a fifth straight gold medal.
Recently, Magic Johnson reflected on this transition in a heartfelt post on X to show how the modern era of basketball is evolving. Johnson shared how the new generation, led by LeBron, Curry, and Durant, has transformed the sport in ways few could have predicted.
“I watched Quincy Olivari’s interview after his 22-point performance last night against the Suns, where he cried talking about meeting and talking to his hero Steph Curry, mentioning how he used to sleep in his jersey every night. It was powerful, and it truly touched me! Everybody should go watch it back when they get a chance,” Johnson said.
“Larry and I often get credited for helping change the game, but Steph Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant have been instrumental in changing the game today!” he added.
Magic Johnson Voices Support for Bronny James Amid Scrutiny
Since starting his Los Angeles Lakers career, Bronny James has been under intense scrutiny. The young rookie has struggled to find rhythm in the Summer League and preseason games. Meanwhile, Lakers legend Magic Johnson has given Bronny a strong vote of confidence.
“Basketball fans, Bronny James is in good hands with the Lakers, who are great with developing talent. Two names that I can name recently that I’ve seen firsthand are Alex Caruso and Austin Reaves, who both are starters in the league today. Bronny will be next,” Johnson wrote on X.
