“Laker Nation, I have to tell you Bronny James is going to be a really good basketball player! Last night, he showed he has a few things you simply can’t teach—high basketball IQ, athleticism, and a competitive spirit that makes him a tenacious defender!” Johnson said. Bronny proved this by scoring 17 points, along with 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block, in his last preseason game against the Golden State Warriors.
Although Bronny struggled in earlier games, averaging only 4.1 points and 1.6 rebounds, Johnson believes hard work will help him find a place in the Lakers’ lineup. “I believe after a lot of hard work this season, he’ll definitely be in the Lakers’ rotation and playing heavy minutes,” he stated.

Johnson acknowledged that Bronny might need time, saying, “If I’m Bronny, I would tell my dad just let me play in the G-League all season so that I can develop. He needs playing time. He doesn’t need to be sitting on the Laker bench and not playing.”
