The Dallas Mavericks had one of their most horrible outings against the Utah Jazz. With the Jazz reeling with the 2-8 win-loss record, nobody expected them to come on top of the Mavericks at the end of the game. Yet, while the unthinkable happened, the play that led to the Mavs’ loss was even more bizarre. Luka Doncic of all people, made one of the horrendous mistakes, which caught him ball-watching in the defense.
Making the most of the opportunity presented, Josh Collins wasted no time as he sped past Doncic to seal the game against the Dallas outfit. However, soon after the game, Doncic came out and apologized for his mistake. He took full responsibility for the mix up as he looked distraught having dashed the dreams of his fans.
“It was a misunderstanding. I thought I was going to go hit, and Grimes thought he was going to go hit. And it was a lob, so we misunderstood the bench. That’s on me,” the Slovenian star reflected on the play.
Now, while mistakes might happen from time to time, the Dallas Mavericks have looked completely out of sorts this season. While they were the finalists from the last season, the Mavericks have looked anything but a shadow of their previous self. As before losing to the Jazz, Doncic and co. also suffered a humbling from the Phoenix Suns. And guess what? There was a Luka Doncic controversy in that game, too!
Luka Doncic Accused Of Faking His Foul?
The Dallas Mavericks gave their fans something to cheer about when they dominated the Bulls to a 119-99 victory. Unfortunately, the triumph was short-lived, as the Mavs succumbed to a 113-114 loss to the Phoenix Suns. While the loss itself was heartbreaking, to say the least, there was a controversial foul that involved Luka Doncic.

Trying to up the ante, both Doncic and Jusuf Nurkic went for the ball when the duo had a bad clash. The play was immediately stopped when Nurkic was called for a foul on Doncic. While the Slovenian was seen lying on the floor, clutching his lips, slow-motion replays sparked a heavy controversy.
Footage showed that Nurkic barely made contact with the Mavs’ star, which sent the fans into a frenzy. While it is not confirmed what exactly happened, Doncic and Co. must look to bounce back pretty soon. Or else, their hopes of making it to the playoffs might as well be over.
