In game four of the seven-game Western Conference finals series, the Dallas Mavericks, who had won the previous three games, fell short against the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, Luka Doncic, the Mavericks’ star player, performed amazingly throughout the game. His all-around performance earned him the Yahoo Fantasy Player of the Night. Doncic finished with 28 points, 10 assists, and 15 rebounds in his 41 minutes.
With another remarkable performance, the Slovenian player set a new club record for the most assists in the NBA playoffs. In the last game, Doncic recorded 10 assists, bringing his total to 365 in 44 postseason games. He is also the sixth youngest player in NBA history to reach 10k points.
In addition, Doncic moved up to ninth place on the all-time NBA postseason triple-double list with his ninth triple-double in the playoffs. Magic Johnson leads the way with thirty triple-doubles. LeBron James has 28 triple-doubles, whereas Nikola Jokic has only 18. In this season’s playoffs, the 25-year-old Doncic averaged 28.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 9.0 assists in 15 NBA games.

Doncic Takes Blame for Game 4 Loss
During a press conference after game 4, Doncic took the blame for the loss and praised Anthony Edwards, star player of the Timberwolves, for his stunning performance.
“It’s fine. I think that game is on me, just didn’t give enough energy, so we gotta do better. They won one game, so we just gotta focus on the next one.” Doncic said.

Doncic will return to action in Game 5, scheduled for Friday at the Target Center. The next game will be crucial for both teams. If Dallas wins, they will advance to the NBA finals, while if Minnesota wins, they will force Game 6. Minnesota needs to win the next three games continuously to win the series.
