The Los Angeles Lakers faced the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night, suffering a loss at the end of the regular season. Jaxson Hayes was allowed to show his talents in the big league and the youngster didn’t disappoint.
The Lakers tried their best to win the game but were not able to pull through after Anthony Davis left in the first quarter. However, D’Angelo Russell made a bold prediction about Hayes after the disappointing loss in a post-game interview.
D’Angelo Russell predicts major payday for Jaxson Hayes
After the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, D’Angelo Russell was present at the post-game conference. He shared his insights on the match and addressed the issues the Lakers faced in their match against the Wolves. Russell also praised the young Laker Jaxson Hayes for his contribution to the game and made a bold prediction concerning his future at the Lakers.
“He (Jaxson Hayes) has been amazing. He is gonna make a lot of money this summer…Kudos to him, he’s been hanging in there all season,” said D’Lo complimenting the youngster. He highlighted that Hayes has been hanging out there with the team and has been amazing. He predicted that the Lakers would offer him a big deal to keep him in the upcoming summer.
Hayes’ performance this season
Jaxson Hayes has not seen much play this season. He has been averaging 4.3 points, 3.0 rebounds 0.5 assists, which doesn’t look like a lot. His main role has been to observe the more experienced players in the squad and watch them do their craft on the court. However, when given the chance, the youngster has proved himself on big stages, going neck-to-neck with veterans of the game.

In his recent performance against the Wolves, he scored 19 points, collected 10 rebounds, and had 5 successful steals in just 33 minutes of game time. He showed flashes of great potential and D’Angelo Russell may be right in predicting the future. The Lakers are investing in their young talents and Austin Reaves is the greatest example of that.
