LeBron James’ future with the LA Lakers has been the talk of the town since their early playoff elimination at the hands of the Nuggets. As there has been nothing conveyed regarding his new contract, NBA fans are speculating the worst, that the 39-year-old will enter free agency this summer. Amid all these predictions, his former Miami Heat teammate Udonis Haslem gives his assessment of the unrest surrounding LeBron.
Praising LeBron as a businessman on a recent episode of ESPN’s Get Up, the 3-time champion said, “Business minds, they are very calculated. With that being said, you got a better chance wrestling an alligator than getting Bron out of LA …” UD confidently stated, “He ain’t going nowhere … he will be at south of France sipping wine while we have these discussions.”
As per Haslem, the 20-time All-Star has set up his businesses so well in Los Angeles that he would not want to relocate anywhere. Instead, he imagines LeBron enjoying his life with his family at this point in the city. Not only UD but also the Warriors‘ Draymond Green expressed similar views about his old pal.
LeBron himself once stated his desire to end his career in the purple and gold, but he has remained silent on the matter for now. Though the LA franchise is willing to do anything to get back their star, there are rumors of the Phoenix Suns being interested in a deal with the forward.
Suns Eye Super Team With LeBron James
There have been talks going on that LeBron James might go to the same team as his eldest son Bronny. As the 2024 NBA Draft is around the corner, many teams are trying to work out with Junior James possibly to execute their bigger plans with his father, one such team being the Phoenix Suns.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, “The Phoenix Suns will conduct a workout with Bronny James ahead of the June NBA Draft, sources say.”

Following the Insider’s news, another journalist, Evan Sidery, wrote on X, “The Suns are hoping to pursue LeBron James this offseason, which is why Bronny James is a very serious draft option at No. 22 overall to potentially lure him in.”
If LeBron does get added to the Suns’ roster, they will certainly create a super team with LBJ, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
LeBron has a $51.4 million player option with the LA franchise, which he can use to avoid being a free agent. One has to keep their eyes on the deadline, June 29 to know what the 4-time champion decides for his future.
