After facing two consecutive losses, the Los Angeles Lakers bounced back with a 131-125 win over the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena. This victory improved the Lakers’ record to 4-2, with much of the credit going to their star center, Anthony Davis, who had a phenomenal game on both ends of the floor.
Davis led the team with 38 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and two blocks. His performance set the pace, helping the Lakers regain confidence after their losses against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns.
LeBron James followed closely behind, adding 27 points along with 10 assists, six rebounds, and a steal in his 36 minutes on the court. The 39-year-old shot 52.9% from the field and made five three-point shots on 62.7% shooting from beyond the arc. The Lakers also saw strong contributions from Austin Reaves, who posted 20 points, six assists, and a rebound.
D’Angelo Russell added 19 points, six assists, and three rebounds in 32 minutes of play. Rookie Dalton Knecht also chipped in with five points, while Rui Hachimura added nine. Meanwhile, Bronny James remained on the bench following his historic moment during the previous game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he received special recognition from his hometown team.
On the Raptors’ side, RJ Barrett and Gradey Dick delivered standout performances. Barrett scored 33 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, while Dick contributed 31 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Raptors center Jakob Poeltl added 19 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists to the loss.

In the Lakers’ recent victory over the Toronto Raptors, Davis made history, becoming the first NBA player to score at least 20 points, register a block, and snag a steal in each of his first six games of the season.
According to OptaSTATS, the last time this feat was achieved was by NBA Hall of Famer Karl Malone during his 1993-94 season with the Utah Jazz. The Lakers big man averaged 30.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game across his first six games this season.
With expectations of stellar performances from Davis in upcoming games as well, the Lakers now head back to the US for a game against the Detroit Pistons on November 4.
