A blockbuster trade proposal has the Los Angeles Lakers altering the NBA landscape by trading superstar big man Anthony Davis to one of their archrival teams.
Many fans and prognosticators have called for the Lakers to trade Anthony Davis and reshape the core around 40-year-old franchise face LeBron James. But with the Lakers occupying a playoff spot (20-16), it would take a king’s ransom for GM Rob Pelinka to trade the future Hall of Famer.
The 31-year-old Davis is having another productive season in La La Land, averaging 25.8 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.1 blocks per game while shooting 31.6 percent from beyond the arc (his personal best since 2019-20).
Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale proposed a blockbuster trade idea that would see the Lakers trading Davis to the rival Golden State Warriors in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Kevon Looney, first-round picks in 2025, 2027 and 2030 plus first-round pick swaps in 2026 and 2028:
“Landing AD makes the Warriors a contender. He can play in the frontcourt with or without Draymond Green and has the skills necessary to be used outside a traditional pick-and-roll offense. His self-creation isn’t quite on the level of propping up the show without Stephen Curry on the floor, but Golden State should be able to generate enough buckets during those stretches when pairing him with Dennis Schröder.
Giving up three first-rounders, two swaps, Kuminga and Wiggins will sting. The Warriors’ wing depth, in particular, will be tested. Head coach Steve Kerr will have no choice other than to actually play Moses Moody (I think). You make this deal anyway.”

Golden State barely occupies a play-in berth with a 19-18 record, cooling down tremendously after a 12-3 start to the season. They’ve been linked to disgruntled Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler, but Anthony Davis would be the better target if the Lakers made him available.
Anthony Davis Would Make Warriors NBA Title Favorites
The Dubs’ window to win is closing with Stephen Curry (37 in March), Draymond Green (35 in March) and Buddy Hield (32) getting up there in age. If there was a time to swing a blockbuster deal and make one last run at a fifth title with this core, it’s this year.
If the Warriors could somehow add a superstar big man like Davis to the mix, they’d easily emerge as the new NBA title favorites. Curry and Hield are nightmare fuel enough for opposing teams as prolific three-point shooters, but having a frontcourt of Green and Davis would take this offense to another level.
