Los Angeles Lakers’ hard-fought 123-120 road victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday keeps them in the running for the seventh slot in the Western Conference playoff race.
The Lakers, led by superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis, prevailed despite a valiant effort by the Grizzlies, improving their record to 46-35 and giving them a solid chance to secure a favorable position in the play-in round.
James scored 37 points, nine rebounds, and five assists in the victory, while Davis finished with 36 points, 14 rebounds, and two blocks, as per the NBA website. With one game remaining in the regular season, the LA Lakers are competing for a postseason spot.
Los Angeles Lakers are confident they will win the game regardless of where they finish in the standings, even though they are focused on getting into the best possible position in the Play-In Tournament.

Los Angeles Lakers Have Better Chances Than the Warriors and Kings
The Lakers’ victory over the Grizzlies on Friday propelled them into eighth place, while the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, who have 45-35 records, are still in action against different opponents.

Additionally, if they win their last game and the Suns lose their games against Sacramento and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, they would finish in seventh place, now held by the Phoenix Suns (47-33), who were also facing the Kings on Friday.
Finishing seventh place would also entitle you to homecourt privilege over the No. 8 team in the Play-In Tournament. The Los Angeles Lakers must defeat the New Orleans Pelicans (48-32) to attempt to clinch the eighth position in the Western Conference before the Play-In Tournament.
But given that the Pelicans also want to win as many games as possible to ensure their place in the top six and the accompanying postseason spot, it will be harder said than done.
