The Los Angeles Lakers put forth their best efforts in the last NBA season and managed to enter the playoffs after winning the Play-In tournament. However, their dominance fell short against the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs. The upcoming season could be different, as the Lakers have hired former NBA player JJ Redick as the new head coach during the offseason.
Fans are expecting better results from the Lakers, and Redick shared his plan for the upcoming NBA season. In a recent interview with the Lowe Post, Redick explained that “luck” is one of the critical factors involved in winning NBA championships.
“If you look back at the history of the NBA, there are very few championships that have been won where there wasn’t — Doc used to use the word “luck,” and everybody got mad at him for saying that — but there is some luck involved. When he was talking about luck, that goes into avoiding your star player getting banged up in the playoffs… An outlier hot streak within a certain player in a playoff series.” Redick said.
After a disappointing 2023-24 NBA season, the Lakers made some vital decisions by firing their entire coaching staff, including head coach Darvin Hame. After a lengthy search and discussion, they ultimately chose Redick.
Redick Shares His Strategy for Bronny James
Fans are eagerly anticipating the next season for the Lakers, as star player LeBron James will be joined by his son, Bronny James. The Lakers selected Bronny in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft, making them the first father-son duo in NBA history. However, head coach Redick has some different plans for them.

“I think Bronny is a young guy. I am very high on him as a basketball player and I said this at his press conference I said he is kinda like our first player that we get to mold and help develop. So we’re going to look at the G-League as a tool in our player development system.” Redick said.
The upcoming NBA season is set to begin, and the Lakers will play their first preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
