“I’m back y’all … and I’m coming back next season with a vengeance,” he wrote.
Wood still has the opportunity to wear the Lakers jersey for another year. He has opted into the 2024-25 season with the team, securing his spot for $3 million. This gives him a chance to continue contributing to the Lakers and to fully realize his potential in the upcoming season.
Christian Wood’s Last Season Performance
Christian Wood played in 50 games for the Lakers last season, making just one start. Prior to undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee, his performance had not stood out significantly.
Wood averaged 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, with a shooting accuracy of 30.7% from three-point range. His campaign was considered disappointing, as he struggled to make a notable impact and integrate effectively into the team’s rotation.

Before his stint with the Lakers, Wood was with the Dallas Mavericks, where he primarily came off the bench. During his time with the Mavs, he posted more impressive numbers. He averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for the Mavs.
