The Los Angeles Lakers’ two-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday as they were comfortably defeated by the Los Angeles Clippers, who won with a 116-102 score. Despite a strong showing from LeBron James, the Clippers dominated from the very start, with standout performances from their trio of stars, James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, and Norman Powell.
The Clippers are now on a hot streak, having won four consecutive games and boasting a 15-2 record over their last 17 games. With the win, they moved to 24-17 on the season, just ahead of the Lakers in the standings. Meanwhile, the Lakers fell to 22-18, sitting sixth in the competitive Western Conference.
Lakers Fall To The Los Angeles Clippers As James Harden And Kawhi Leonard Shine
James Harden led the Clippers with an all-around performance on Sunday. Harden finished with 21 points, four rebounds, 12 assists, and a steal. His 26,711th career point also moved him past Oscar Robertson, securing 14th place on the NBA’s all-time points list.

Kawhi Leonard added 19 points, four assists, and one steal in just 24 minutes of play, shooting 69% from the field. Ivica Zubac also delivered a dominant performance, posting 21 points, 19 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks while shooting 9-of-16 from the field. Norman Powell contributed with 22 points.
For the Lakers, LeBron James scored 25 points, grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists. However, his efforts weren’t enough to carry the team to victory. Anthony Davis had a double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks, but his 5-of-14 shooting performance did not help the Lakers’ cause.
Rui Hachimura added 19 points and 7 rebounds, while Austin Reaves chipped in with 14 points and 3 assists. Max Christie and rookie Dalton Knecht both added 10 points in the loss.
