On August 28, 2024, Lonnie Walker IV officially signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Boston Celtics. Throughout the preseason, he showcased his talents, especially during a standout performance against the Toronto Raptors, where he scored 20 points and recorded one assist in a thrilling 115-111 victory.
Despite his strong contributions and potential, Walker’s time with the Celtics came to an unexpected end when he was waived by the team on October 19, just weeks after joining. This swift exit raised questions about his fit within the squad and the team’s future direction. However, Walker remains hopeful about finding success in the league.
“I’m only 25. in due time ! The marathon continues. I know the stars will align. Self belief is the best belief. All apart of the story. Stay tuned.” Walker wrote in his latest post on X (formerly Twitter).
Walker had the opportunity to join the Celtics’ G League team. Despite this enticing option, he ultimately decided to enter free agency, signaling his desire to explore other possibilities and teams.
