On Tuesday, the NCAA suddenly decided to place eligibility restrictions on who qualifies to represent collegiate basketball players attempting to make the NBA.
According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, the NCAA created a new rule restricting which agents are allowed to work with college athletes.
“The NCAA has officially added criteria for agents who wish to represent student athletes testing the waters for the NBA Draft,” Rothstein said.
That rule now requires agents to have a bachelors degree. As soon as the rule was announced, many figured that rule was made because of high-profiled agent Rich Paul.
LeBron James thought the same thing.
On Tuesday night, James ripped the NCAA for enacting a rule that excludes his friend.
“Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop! They BIG MAD and Scared. Nothing will stop this movement and culture over here. Sorry! Not sorry,” James said.

Paul doesn’t own a college degree, but he built an empire after building a friendship with LeBron.
Whether the new rule was aimed at him or not, it will now be referred to as the “Rich Paul rule.”
