Back in 2018, Fox News’ Laura Ingraham told LeBron James and Kevin Durant to “shut-up and dribble” for sharing a political opinion. On Wednesday night, Ingraham changed her tune completely when she defended Drew Brees after he made a controversial political stance of his own.
LeBron saw it and made sure to blast her on Twitter for her contradicting stance on athletes making political comments.
“If you still haven’t figured out why the protesting is going on,” LeBron wrote on Twitter. “Why we’re acting as we are is because we are simply F-N tired of this treatment right here! Can we break it down for you any simpler than this right here???? And to my people don’t worry I won’t stop until I see.”
In the wake of the tragic death of George Floyd by police officer David Chauvin, it has brought back up the conversation of Colin Kaepernick being justified in kneeling during the National Anthem to protest police brutality.
Drew Brees, however, refused to budge on his previous stance, stating, he would never agree with the gesture.
“I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country. Let me just tell you what I see or what I feel when the national anthem is played and when I look at the flag of the United States,” the 41-year-old quarterback told the outlet.
