Just when you thought things would be getting a little better for the Lakers, they get bad again as he team just can’t seem to get and stay above .500.
Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel made a shocking decision last night to bench Russell Westbrook down the stretch of Wednesday’s 111-104 loss to the Indiana Pacers. Over the past week and a half, Lakers management has told the coaching staff to coach Westbrook as the coaches see fit, even if that means pulling him from a game, as Vogel did for the final minutes of the game.
“Playing the guys that I thought were going to win the game,” Vogel said in response as to why he benced him, via ESPN.com.
When asked a similar question after Wednesday’s game, LeBron wasn’t willing to provide much feedback.
“I’m going to the movies with my wife, man. I gotta go,” LeBron responded.
He had more to say when pressed about Vogel’s future with the Lakers. The four-time NBA champion said he’s trying to stay positive during this rough stretch.

“Listen, I’m not in the business of pointing fingers or pointing blame or trying to put a quote at the end or at the start of somebody’s commentary of what they feel our coaching staff or Frank is or what Russ is or what I’m at or AD,” James said. “If it’s not positive for me, I’m cool. It’s not my lane. I’m not a negative person.”
Vogel has proven in the past that he can lead the Lakers to an NBA title, but the roster that has been constructed for this season has not meshed well to gether for consecutive games at a time. It doesn’t help that Anthony Davis keeps getting injured and missing time.
