January 26, 2020 has to be the darkest day in NBA history after the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant.
The crash comes one day after Bryant was passed by Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James for third place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
Hours after the news, a helicopter caught LeBron James’ reaction as he exited the team plane and he could clearly be seen crying as hugged teammates.
Bryant played in 15 All-Star Games, was MVP of four of those games, was the 2008 league MVP and was twice the NBA Finals MVP.
Bryant was one of the most influential basketball players of the late 1990s and early 21st century, racking up scoring totals while also playing elite defense over a 20-season career that ended in 2016.
